Day of Rememberance

Sorry for taking so long to post, I've been a little busy with my son and trying to find a new job.

Yesterday we remembered the brave men and women who gave there lives running into the burning buildings of the world trade centers, and pentagon. Also the brave souls who lose there lives in the buildings and the plane that went down in Pennsylvania.

My question is though, how come we do not have a observation day for this tragic day yet? We close schools and government buildings for other holidays to remember lives lost on memorial, veterans day and labor day. We even have holidays for presidents and Martin Luther King. (don't get me wrong I think they are totally justified). But what about those unsung heroes. Like firefighters who leave there families every night and day to go out into the field to risk there lives running into the burning buildings not knowing if this will be there last call. What about the policemen who don't know if there kissing there loved ones good bye for the last time to go out on a shift that may end in tragedy. Maybe they should set aside that one day a year to remember the lose of those thousands and say thanks to the everyday heroes who fight to keep civilization going. The medic who comes to your aid when you get into a accident. The firefighter to goes running into your neighbors burning house to pull out there child who's clinging to life. The police officer who comes to help when your parents have been robbed and need justice. Maybe we should set aside September 11th to observe our fellow citizens who made the choice to put there lives at risk everyday. Instead of making this a tragedy make this a time to thank everyday heroes.
